Mohini Indian Dance Group, Mohini School of Indian Dance and Tandava Natyam School of Performing Arts are delighted to invite you to an Indian bharatanatyam dance workshop led by the exceptional artist, Sandhya Udupa. Over 3 days you will have the opportunity to learn both the technique. and choreography of this beautiful dance style.
Open group. During the workshop, learning will take place continuously - we will build skills step by step over the three days, allowing participants to better assimilate choreography and technique. Everyone will have time to repeat and perfect the elements learnt in order to get the most out of the class.

About the artist:
Sandhya Udupa is a talented Bharathanatyam artist, full of grace and beauty, having grown up in a rich culture of art and tradition. A disciple of renowned Aacharya artist Indira Kadambi, Sandhya Udupa is a new generation artist who is committed to bringing the most beautiful aspects of Indian culture to a wider audience. A skilled interior designer, she is additionally trained in the art of Kuchipudi, Yakshagana and classical Carnatic music.
Sandhya Udupa is a trustee of the Udupa Foundation, a registered charity. In addition, she curates the 'Nritya Katha' dance festival, which showcases prominent artists from the country.
Sandhya initially trained under Karnataka Kalashree Vidwan Chandrasekhar Navada in Bharathanatyam dance, which was awarded the Vidwath degree by the Karnataka Secondary Education Board. The artiste has been assessed by Doordarshan in Bengaluru and is also teaching Bharathanatyam at the 'Udupa Foundation' institute.
She has travelled both in India and abroad, accompanying her Guru, where she has had the opportunity to perform at several prestigious platforms. Additionally, she choreographed and presented her dance at the TEDx Bengaluru event in 2019. Sandhya studied the art of Kuchipudi for several years under Guru Vidhushi Vyjayanthi Kashi. For her achievements, she has been honoured with the 'Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Award' for 2022.
She was honoured with the title of 'Best Performer' during the 'Bharat Nritya Utsav 2023' awarded by the Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha in Chennai.
