Ronnie James Dio was one of the greatest vocalists in the history of rock and heavy metal. As frontman of Black Sabbath, Rainbow or DIO, he sang with his distinctive voice anthems that have passed into the canon of the genre. "Heaven and Hell", "Kill the King" or "Holy Diver" must be known to anyone who has even licked a bit of heavier music. Heavier, but not devoid of melody, mastery and an endearing, often nostalgic-romantic poetics.
Ronnie James Dio died in 2010 from cancer at the age of 67.
