We return to you after a long break with a handful of information and layers of fresh 2025 style energy.
It's nice to see that the first quarter of the year is full of serious soundsystem sessions and there are more and more very interesting and quality Big up events for all the promoters in our local PL backyard not giving up despite many adversities. We are entering the year 2025, another year when we will be looking for the best numbers, the best sound (maybe some new packages will appear again) and doing fairly regular sessions for you. We would love to add our first contribution to this year's events on 1 March. The natural flow of energy in the chat between Warsaw, Tenerife and Thailand, this time resulted in the booking of more guests from the UK - Concrete Lion. A strong, upbeat and energetic crew (Sunil Dubtronics and Kai Dub) combining Bristol with Birmingham, mixing King Earthquake roots with Masai Warrior Soundsystem, getting good feedback at festivals for a couple of years and recently having a menacing looking stack. Still a fresh project that hasn't appeared in our country in this form before.
In addition, we came to the conclusion that each of us has memories that repeatedly come back to us with the names of event cycles that had special meaning for us. With this in mind, we have decided to call our now somewhat deserved sessions at Voodoo 'Dub it' (exactly like the show hosted by Jaszol on Newonce radio, which very possibly will return this year in some more regular, podcast form) and hope to expand this project in the coming time. Keep it locked
We hope our lack of regular spamming hasn't excluded us from this great social media fun and you're still out there.
[Rodigan voice] Give us some signaaal!
We encourage you to bookmark the event and, as usual, invite your friends.
Your support is invaluable.
Lets make it a big one!
CONCRETE LION [Bristol & Birmigham, UK].
Concrete Lion is a sound system from Birmingham and Bristol founded by Kai Dub and Dubtronics. They are the 'new generation', although involved in the scene since 2007 when Kai Dub and Dubtronics set up their own independent studios!
Kai originally started out in a Soundsystem called Maasai Warrior alongside the late 'Paul Maasai' and his productions have reached all four corners of the Earth! Together they have played many sessions on several continents, and over the years Kai has grown and now has a huge catalogue of releases! Dubtronics, being the nephew of King Earthquake, has always been fascinated by soundsystems, sound production and it has always been his ambition to build his own original soundsystem! He spent many years under the wing of his uncle, learning every aspect of sound reinforcement, and in 2019 he and Kai Dub decided to join forces, embarking on a new journey! This journey was to be called 'CONCRETE LION'. Since launching, Concrete Lion has played in some big arenas such as Dubquake next to OBF and at Wandem Sound at Dub Camp Festival, at SubDub next to Iration Steppas & in Bristol at the now legendary Teachings In Dub next to Word Sound & Power, to name a few. Concrete Lion will be arriving with a heavy sound system, rousing dubs and vibrant energy, ready to lift everyone's spirits!
Roots Revival Soundsystem (Warsaw)
Roots Revival Soundsystem is a project whose mission is to promote soundsystem culture in Poland and around the world.
The origins of Roots Revival date back to 2006, when, after playing in other collectives for several years, Rootskontrolla and Jaszol decided to join forces. Soon after, inspired by Jamaican sounds and legendary UK sessions, they built what was probably the first soundsystem of its kind in the country. In early 2022, Tomana Dub joined the selector line-up, also providing organisational support. Based on their unique energy, specific style and solid crew, Roots Revival aim to represent what they consider to be the best of the roots & culture genre. In addition, Jaszol is responsible for the creation and management of Tribe 84 Records, and the organisation of the Bass Camp festival in southern Poland.
Vibes up!
