A full-plastic sculpture is one that can and should be viewed from all sides and angles. It is only after a full rotation that the form before our eyes manages to speak clearly to us.

Therefore, form and pivot are key words in the exhibition concept.

We present eighteen imaginative sculptural portraits of Fryderyk Chopin from the collections of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum. All of them were made in the twentieth century by different artists, and their formal diversity testifies to the fact that today attempts to recreate the composer's apperance largely consist in shaping his image according to one's own imagination.

To paraphrase a popular adage: as they hear it, so they mould it.
