The University for Adults is a series of meetings led by the Fryderyk Chopin Museum's staff and educators. The main axis of the event are lectures. The varied interests of the speakers guarantee a rich programme that allows the Chopin heritage to be viewed from a variety of perspectives - that of a musicologist, art historian, conservator and archivist.
Topic: "Polish artists in Paris in the first half of the 19th century", speaker - Urszula Król
In the first half of the 19th century, many Polish artists studied, worked or lived (for a few months or many years) in Paris. Many of them had close ties with the Great Emigration, especially with the milieu of the Hôtel Lambert. We will trace the Parisian fortunes of Teofil Kwiatkowski, Juliusz Kossak, Henryk Rodakowski, Piotr Michałowski and other painters associated with the French capital.
