We would like to invite you to the 11th Edition of the Roots of Europe 2025 Ethnic Music Festival.
There will be concerts, workshops and animations in Bródno Park on Sunday, 1 June 2025, 14:00-21:30. Entry free!
The "Roots of Europe" Ethnic Music Festival is devoted to the ethnic cultures of Poland and Europe, but also refers to archaeology and anthropology. The festival popularises folk and folk music, as well as science and historical education, and spreads knowledge of the culture of the Mazovia region. It is an integration of various circles of Central and Eastern Europe by reaching back to common roots, building new social bonds and promoting traditional folk art and using its sources in contemporary culture.
The event has a multidimensional character, which presents the cultural richness of the region to the audience and brings closer the diversity of performing, singing and also ritual traditions. Moreover, it contributes to changing the stereotypical perception of folk culture as homogeneous and limited to the sphere of folklore or a hermetic set of means of expression. For many years now, the festival has been building an interpersonal network reaching back to the roots and their contemporary interpretations, bringing together people of different provenance and generations.
Finally, the festival is a joint community activity - we invite, among other things, workshops for children and young people. But undoubtedly the most anticipated highlight of the programme are the music concerts.
Event programme:
14:00 - 18:00 - festival zone workshops and animations for children
16:00 - concert of the band LAPOSA JULCSI - (Hungary)
