Wernisaż wystawy prezentującej wybrane prace międzypokoleniowej grupy utalentowanych kobiet. To niezwykła podróż do świata rękodzieła. Kreatywność, precyzja i fantazja splatają się w uszytych ręcznie dziełach, zaskakując nieoczywistymi formami i detalami.

The exhibition includes both very traditional works and quite modern ones, corresponding to the latest fashion trends. In addition to crochet doilies similar to those which once adorned the homes of our grandmothers, the exhibition also features knitted and crocheted unique tablecloths, tapestries, clothes such as jumpers, bedspreads, hats and handbags.

Visitors will also see different varieties of embroidery: cross-stitch, flat hand embroidery, richelieu and beadwork. Visitors to the exhibition will be delighted by unusual decorations alluding to Easter and Christmas. Easter lambs, bunnies, openwork baubles and angels, made with crochet, needle and thread, are original decorations for the home, beautify the space and are desirable gifts. The nice, soft-touch mascots evoke a smile on the face and nostalgia, representing a return to self-made, safe and ecological toys.

Danuta Odyniec, for 25 years professionally connected with the Zacisze Cultural Centre, animated the leisure time of seniors by organising lectures, excursions, cultural outings and dance evenings. Hand sewing, cross-stitch, tapestry or Richelieu embroidery are, besides travelling, her greatest hobbies, which she gladly shares with others now that she has retired. She has been running knitting classes at the Zacisze Community Centre since 1987.

The Thread Inspired section was established in response to the growing interest in knitting among seniors and beyond. A few years ago, stitch and fine knitting classes were also run for children. The works made during the classes have been presented many times during exhibitions and reviews of the Zacisze Cultural Centre's activities. The ladies belonging to the Section took part in the action "Rice Trail" -helping children in the Philippines", by making 860 crochet angels.

Currently, the section has a dozen members from Targówek. Lasting friendships have been formed between the participants. Meetings are held once a week and are an excellent opportunity to talk, share experiences and do creative workshops together.

Wydarzeniu towarzyszyć będzie koncert w wykonaniu zespołu Igły i Liście. Jest to folkowo-poetycki projekt powstały z miłości do poezji, pasji wspólnego muzykowania i przede wszystkim – klimatów „Krainy Łagodności”, zawiązany przez poetę i barda ulicznego Patryka Kulę. Grają muzykę, która wymyka się szablonowej klasyfikacji. Sami określają ją autorską piosenką liryczno-folkową, inaczej można powiedzieć, iż jest to rodzaj energetycznej poezji śpiewanej z elementami folku.
