WarszeMuzik 2025 Festival - Day 8

WarszeMuzik 2025 Festival - Day 8

Walk: 14:00 - Ghetto artists
Meeting point: 3/5 Tłomackie St.
The walk will be led by: Dr Szymon Pietrzykowski
In spite of the tragic reality, the Warsaw Ghetto became a place of lively artistic activity - among the Jews and Jewish women imprisoned behind the ghetto walls were also musicians, actors, painters and representatives of other creative professions. The walk will commemorate, among others, the heroes and heroines of this year's March of Remembrance - musicians Josima Feldszuch, Janina Familier-Hepnerowa, Paulina Braun, Jakub Goldsztajn, Artur Gold, Szymon Pulman, Władysław Szpilman - but also other, more or less well-known artists. The walk starts in front of the Jewish Historical Institute building, where the first concert of the Jewish Symphony Orchestra took place on 25 November 1940, a few days after the ghetto was closed. The walk will be led by Dr Szymon Pietrzykowski from the Education Department of the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute.

They will be performing:
Julia Kociuban, Ilya Maximov, piano
F. Schubert - Fantasia in F minor D.940
J. S. Bach - Schafe können sicher weiden BWV 208

WarszeMuzik - one of the most original festivals on the cultural map of Warsaw - opens on Saturday 2 August!
This year, for the ninth time, we invite you to a series of micro-concerts in unusual locations. Throughout August, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, music performed by great artists will resound in the courtyards of tenement-houses and in the space of the Umschlagplatz monument.
In addition to the concerts, you will also have the opportunity to take part in 3 historical walks!
Admission to all events of the WarszeMuzik 2025 festival is free.
