- The Ursynów Science Festival is a celebration of curiosity, inspiration and discovering the world together. I am glad that we can invite residents - both the youngest and adults - to participate in an event that popularises science in a modern, attractive and accessible way. Ursynów is a district open to development, education and innovation - and this festival perfectly demonstrates this," encourages Robert Kempa, Mayor of Ursynów District.
The idea behind the festival is to popularise science among young, but also older residents of Ursynów and Warsaw. This year, we invite you to a series of lectures on security conducted by specialists from the special services, to talks with the director, actress, model and coach Renata Gabryjelska.
Attendees can look forward to many attractions: nitro ice cream tasting, a planetarium, inflatables for the little ones and science clubs will present their achievements in various fields.
Fans of the latest technology must take a look at the 3D design zone and the VR zone. There you will be able to see how a 3D printer works, take part in a 3D design workshop and get a souvenir print. In the VR goggles zone, participants will be transported into a virtual world.
Drivers - both current and future - are invited to the zone, where a rollover simulator, a crash simulator, an airbag deployment simulator and a safe driving simulator will be at the Festival's participants' disposal - everyone will be able to test their reaction time and, after donning alco-goggles, see for themselves how time changes under the influence of consciousness-altering drugs.
The District Sanitary and Epidemiological Station has prepared a health-promoting stand where we will learn about the prevention of oncological and tick-borne diseases; participants will also have drug goggles and educational suitcases at their disposal. We will learn about the effects of stimulants, drugs, tobacco, e-cigarettes and hallucinogenic mushrooms on the body.
Police officers from the Warsaw Ursynów Police Station have prepared a traffic town as well as workshops and a presentation on the importance of fingerprints in criminalistics. Fans of aviation are invited to try the Cessna flight simulator and the Pirat glider at the stand of the Bohaterów Narwiku School Complex.
And these are just a few of the attractions and activities in which the citizens of Warsaw will be able to participate at the Ursynów Science Picnic, to which the Mayor of Ursynów District, LXIII L. Kossuth High School in Warsaw and the Ursynów Cultural Centre "Alternatywy" cordially invite.
All activities are free of charge, registration is required for some of the events including workshops via the registration form.
