Museum of Minsk Region in Minsk Mazowiecki
The collections include collections devoted to the history of the city and Minsk County, photographs, documents, maps, paintings, graphics and sculptures by Minsk artists. Permanent exhibitions present the history of the town in paintings and graphics, the exhibition "How did the teachers live in the Second Polish Republic?", a watchmaker's, optician's and jeweller's cabinet, an exhibition of craftsman's tools from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of the Voluntary Fire Brigade in Minsk Mazowiecki, the works of Elwiro Michał Andriolli and a collection of sculptures (wood) of the patrons of Minsk churches and chapels, as well as a collection of sculptures (fired clay) by Louis Długosz. The Museum organises temporary exhibitions, produces publications, conducts educational activities, organises patriotic celebrations, piano concerts and merchant fairs (Kupieckie Mensko, Sendomierski Stragan, Janowy Targ), places monuments and information-historical plaques in the public space.
Section of the 7th Uhlan Regiment of Lublin
The Museum documents the history of the 7th Uhlan Regiment of Lublin (stationed in Mińsk Mazowiecki in the years 1921-1939). In the collections: paintings, documents, photographs, militaria, cavalry equipment, personal memorabilia. The Museum also presents memorabilia of the 2nd Brigade of Territorial Defence.
About the "Charm of a Small Homeland" series
The aim of the project is to bring the ethnographic and cultural values of the regions around Warsaw closer to the public, both residents of Warsaw and visitors. Representatives of local associations and institutions from the suburban districts of Warsaw and their municipalities will present, in the form of exhibitions, the history of their towns and cities recorded in photographs and in the products of their material culture. The opening of each exhibition will be accompanied by a meeting about the region and its culture.
