"Our Love".

"Our Love" is the first collaborative project between a father and daughter, a saxophonist and a jazz singer. It is no coincidence that it was created in the year of Henryk Miśkiewicz's 70th birthday. The album with this material premiered in March.

Dorota and Henry make a harmonious team on stage and in life. 'Dad is warm, caring and family-oriented,' Dorota confesses. 'When we were children and he was away on concerts abroad, he used to write separate letters to each of us (mum, brother and me). There were as many as three in one envelope - it made us feel special.

For Dorota, he was then primarily a dad, but in jazz circles he was (and still is!) regarded as an outstanding saxophonist. He could be heard on almost every Polish record; he played in the legendary Jazz Carriers band and in Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski's Jazz Studio. He has performed all over the world with Ewa Bem, Andrzej Jagodziński, Jarosław Śmietana, Wojciech Karolak and Adzik Sendecki, among others. He has also recorded many albums as a leader - starting with the bestseller "More Love", through "Lyrics", for which he received a Fryderyk Award, and ending with the big-selling "Altissimonica".

Henryk hoped that his daughter would become a violinist in an orchestra, but Dorota's career took a different turn. She not only sings, composes and writes lyrics, but also creates artistic projects. In 2016, she presented the unprecedented PIANO.PL project, during which, for the first time in the history of Polish music, more than a dozen outstanding Polish pianists of three generations, including Włodzimierz Nahorny, Leszek Możdżer, Marcin Wasilewski and Piotr Orzechowski "Pianohooligan", came together on one stage in intimate duets accompanied by the Atom String Quartet. "Our Love" is another musical idea by Dorota, who makes no secret of the fact that it was her personal present on the occasion of Henryk's birthday.
