The Wizard of Oz, based on Lyman Frank Baum and directed by Jarosław Kilian, is a bitter tale about utopia and the reality revealed by the actions of the orphaned Dorothy. The determination and courage of the protagonist, and above all love, may inspire or change the lives of the creatures she meets on her way who lack faith and feelings. The Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman, separated from their own hearts, wander in the dark, searching in fear for a way to the truth. A girl takes them on a journey to the Emerald City, wanting healing for them and happiness for herself. Will she succeed in unmasking illusion, mystification and lies? Will the friends release their desires, look deep into their souls, fulfil their dreams, gain awareness and mature? Will innocence, fragility and authenticity become a force for transformation?
The performance is accompanied by an interdisciplinary workshop for children On the Way Home.
