Shakespeare in the Park "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

We are back with Midsummer Night's Dream and An Evening of Three Kings! After last year's success, we once again invite you to the historic gardens in Wilanów for another season of magical evenings with Shakespeare's plays.

A Midsummer Night's Dream - on display for the last time!

A masterful blend of the cruel and the funny, the magical and the mundane, it eludes clear interpretation and is still Shakespeare's most performed play. A comedy of errors, situational jokes and love stories with a happy ending. Here, dream and reality mix, and amorous raptures can lead to madness. A humourous break here is provided by the characters of the mechanics, clumsily preparing the show for the royal wedding. Fairies and elves mischief in the midst of the audience, mixing up the lovers' plans, and elements of choreography introduce the characters to magical dance routines they don't understand.

Directed by: John Weisgerber

Cast: Bartłomiej Kasprzykowski/Szymon Roszak, Tamara Arciuch/Katarzyna Kołeczek, Hanna Konarowska-Nowińska/Sandra Staniszewska-Herbich, Piotr Gawron-Jedlikowski, Piotr Nerlewski, Anna Jarosik/Dominika Kryszczyńska, Monika Łopuszyńska, Jakub Wons, Dominik Bąk, Michał Podsiadło, Łukasz Kurczewski, Łukasz Mazurek/Sławomir Mandes, Sebastian Bieżyński, Ewa Lachowicz, Jagoda Stach, Anna Krypczyk, Anna Matysiak/Samanta Zwolennik/Jowita Kropiewnicka

The historic gardens of Wilanów and the Baroque palace, sunsets and moonrises, a feast of stage lights illuminating the gardens at night, nature and the classic works of the master of the genre - William Shakespeare. Add to this a picnic atmosphere: blankets and deckchairs, drinks and snacks brought by the audience, and it's a casual encounter with art - in other words, theatre for everyone! Behind it all is the Canadian director and originator of our venture, John Weisgerber. It is thanks to him that this international phenomenon (known for years in New York, Prague, Toronto and London, among others) has lived to see its tradition in Warsaw.

We are proud that our "Shakespeare in the Park" has already become a permanent feature in the summer calendar of cultural events in the capital. The performances in previous years were seen by thousands of Varsovians and tourists who visited the city in the summer. Thanks to the official patronage of the City of Warsaw, we will also be with you this summer!
