Linda Sikhakhane is a saxophonist, composer and arranger originally from South Africa. He was born in Umlazi Township near Durban, where his love for music manifested itself at an early age. As a result, he started taking music lessons at the age of 10 in primary school and later took jazz lessons under the tutelage of Dr Brian Thusi at the Siyakhula Music Centre in his area. In 2012, he obtained a degree in jazz and popular music from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, studying under Professor Mageshen Naidoo.
Sikhakhane has performed and recorded with esteemed South African and international artists such as Brian Thusi, Barney Rachabane, Feya Faku, Marcus Wyatt, Herbie Tsoaeli, Andile Yenana, Nduduzo Makhathini, Afrika Mkhize, Sibongile Khumalo, Gregory Potter, Reggie Workman and many others. He won the SAMRO Overseas Scholarship in 2016 and released his debut album titled Two Sides, One Mirror in 2017.
In 2017, Linda moved to New York City, where he enrolled at The New School University as a transfer student to complete his Bachelor of Music degree in jazz. She is studying under prominent musicians such as Billy Harper, David Schnitter and Reggie Workman.
