CONCERTS IN THE FIELD is a premiere series of acoustic chamber performances in the unobvious spaces of Minsk Mazowiecki. These concerts provide the perfect opportunity to go for a walk and crown a May Saturday with an encounter with interesting artists and their songs. It's also a unique opportunity to feel how music enters into a spontaneous dialogue with the sounds of the city, how it feeds off the energy of the place while creating a new context for them.
TOMASZ JUCHNIEWICZ is a singing poet from Skarżysko-Kamienna, head of the independent label Boanerges, creator of the zine 'Krążownik', singer-songwriter who is best known as the leader of the post-punk band MIR and the dark folk band Zwierzęcia Natchnionego. In his lyrics, he mixes Slavic mysticism, epochs, Holy Cross superstition, the scent of forests and marshes, factory fumes, sprouting tomatoes and the stench of fertile dung. The omnipresent motifs of life and death in his work make Yuchnevich's music ideal for dancing Dance Macabre. Minsk's abandoned water tower seems made for sounds of this kind.
