The Wave of Sound series has focused on presenting the most interesting phenomena in the field of sound and visual arts since 2009. Wave of Sound takes a closer look at diverse artistic practices, intergenerational, giving preference to artists and debutants. It enjoys the margins and out of the box.
The 100th anniversary Wave will feature performances by Więckowski / Appow / Vorsoba and the band Saliva.
Saliva is a quartet moving in the areas of improvised music, based on the sounds of saxophones, drums, electric guitar and double bass, additionally using electronic devices. Their musical fascinations mainly revolve around free-jazz, ambient and krautrock, and the songs themselves are long, carefully constructed trance compositions that can mesmerise listeners.
Więckowski / Appow / Vorsoba: accordion, bassoon and electric guitar weave an unhurried tale in which the boundaries of composition and improvisation blur. The trio, who have been performing together for several months now, offer a subtle mélange of atmospheres; a meeting of the mythology of the American South, Slavic ghosts and minimalist, ambient raga; drones and melodies, crawling darkness and glimpses of hope.
