W tym roku minęło 40-lat od pierwszego koncertu Depeche Mode w Polsce – wydarzenia, które zapoczątkowało muzyczną subkulturę i stworzyło wspólnotę fanów na całe pokolenia. Dla nas to inspiracja do stworzenia widowiska „Depesze” – spektaklu, w którym celebrujemy nie tylko muzykę, ale też fenomen fanów, styl, estetykę i tę jedyną w swoim rodzaju, czarno-skórzaną melancholię.

Depeche Mode to fenomen w historii muzyki rozrywkowej. Mozaika stylów, w której pop miesza się z elektroniką, rockiem czy new romantic, a symbolika ukryta w teledyskach oraz żywiołowe koncerty porywają fanów na całym świecie. „Depesze” to subkultura, która także w Polsce ciągle jest aktywna i mocno reprezentowana. Nasz Teatr postanowił ją uhonorować i zbadać fenomen muzyki jako przeżycia wspólnotowego, ekstatycznego, a czasem – metafizycznego. Widowisko muzyczne „Depesze” umiejętnie łączy elementy twórczości zespołu z próbą oddania jego socjologicznego fenomenu, a przede wszystkim – fenomenu bycia fanem.

We invite everyone of all ages and musical tastes to take a journey into the interior of a dystopian Depeche City, where soulless corporations promise people a 'New Life' and the escape from reality is provided by musical rituals called 'Black Celebration', led by the star and prophet Personal Jesus. Meet Little 15, Exciter or Precious and indulge in a journey through a world of sounds, images and lyrics that will incarnate characters and places before your eyes. Immerse yourself in the night city. Become a Depesz.

What is the phenomenon of the band and, above all, its Polish fans, creating a subculture with an original language, rituals and fashion that was a breath of modernity in the grey reality of communist Poland? Does today's world still need Depesha? Or are subcultures a thing of the past? After struggling with our daily problems, do we still dream of belonging to a tribe whose religion is a leather jacket, sunglasses, dancing and songs whose lyrics everyone knows? From the 1980s to today, successive generations of Depeche Mode fans have gathered at concerts, themed parties or fan clubs. Everywhere, they celebrate the dark yet sweet music of the masters of melancholy.

Depeche Mode are still incredibly professional and one of the best bands in the world. Not only because of the music, but also because of the devotion of the fans and a certain artistic romanticism that doesn't happen in music anymore. This, too, we will try to reflect in Depeche Mode.
