Anna Seniuk's monodrama entitled. 'The Book of Herbs', in which the actress reflects on her life in a very personal, direct and humorous way.
Anna Seniuk, inspired by Sándor Márai's 'Book of Herbs' and using the work of some of Poland's most outstanding poets, weaves an almost autobiographical tale in which she emphasises the dominant values, among them love, health, peace, a good life and...of course, theatre.
The performance was created on the initiative of the actress and is a fully original stage statement, a kind of vivisection of her own artistic path and life experiences.
The actress takes the audience on a theatrical and poetic journey, guiding them with her usual intelligence, wit and charm.
Alongside excerpts from Sándor Márai's Book of Herbs, the performance features poems by Zbigniew Herbert, Małgorzata Hillar, Ludmila Marjańska, Tadeusz Różewicz, Wisława Szymborska, Anna Świrszczyńska and Father Jan Twardowski, which complement the themes explored by the performer.
Love, health, peace, theatre, the good life - where do we look for answers to such weighty topics?
