After almost two years of our Saute [sic!] Improvised Dance Stage and 20 evenings, we are opening up to new fields where improvisation will be able to establish itself and develop as a fully-fledged art and stage language.
Our aim is to widen the circle of people interested in the practical side of stage improvisation. In the upcoming workshop we will present our own perspective - a way of thinking about, seeing and creating improvisation through specific methods.
Both people professionally involved in dance and choreography and practicing enthusiasts of movement improvisation are invited to participate. The workshop will provide practical tools and theoretical knowledge, as well as a space to develop and explore improvisation as a stage language in the context of dance, choreography and dramaturgy. It will also be an opportunity to explore one's own language of movement, dance and thinking through the body.
The series includes four meetings, each lasting 3 hours, led by us, the curators of the Improvised Dance Scene [sic!] Saute programme. The classes will be practical and participants will look at different aspects of improvisation through personal experience.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
1) Access to improvisation - what to do with yourself to create in real time?
2) Solo improvisation - the power of presence;
3) Team improvisation - the power of co-creation;
4) Process organisation - choreography of improvisation.
