Event organised as part of the programme accompanying the exhibition Direction Paris. Polish Artists from the Studio of Bourdelle
SOMA is a choreography in the park space. At its centre is the body and sculpture as a medium for reclaiming memory. The experience of form, shape and movement, both recorded in the sculpture and hidden in the body of the audience, will become a platform for dialogue. The artists - Weronika Pelczyńska and Magda Fejdasz - are inspired by the works of Polish women artists studying in France, protagonists of the exhibition 'Direction Paris. Polish Artists from the Bourdell Studio". Referring to the works presented at the Museum of Sculpture in Królikarnia, SOMA proposes participation in a living experience in which sculpture becomes the centre of collective action through movement and dance. Following 'Sculptors', this is the choreographers' second collaboration with the National Museum in Warsaw, continuing a critical reflection on the place of women's work in art history and the social archive.
