Join us for a creative workshop: SUBJECTIVE MAPS OF THE DAY. Every Monday from 5 May to 16 June from 17:00 to 20:00.
Feel you have something to say but don't know where to start?
Do you have emotions, reflections, thoughts inside you that you would like to express but lack the tools? In school there is room for evaluation, but not for self-expression. Art classes can be rigid, and theatre is associated with ready-made roles and an imposed text. Where are you in all this - your sensibility, your view of the world, your story?
Tired of no one asking you what you really think?
You are constantly being judged: for how you speak, how you draw, how you think. You feel pressure to 'do something right' instead of just creating. Maybe you're afraid that you're not 'artistic enough'? Or maybe you just haven't had the opportunity to try yet?
We have a place for you. A workshop where you don't have to have experience - you just have to have yourself.
"Subjective Maps of the Quarter" is a free art workshop for young people that combines collage, storytelling and personal reflection. We don't teach you how to "draw nicely" - we teach you how to create in your own way. We work with a map of the city, with your emotions and associations. In the workshop you will meet Warsaw artists, learn collage techniques, create your own visual narrative and show it to the world in a joint exhibition and performance.
About the class:
The aim of this workshop is to create a space for collaborative artistic action where you can develop your creative potential. We will work on the technique of collage, combined with storytelling skills, to explore the relationship between ourselves and the space of place around us. Through the workshop you will develop artistic, social and communicative competences, working both individually and in teams, learning how to tell stories and present your own work.
Working methods and forms
The workshops are based on the method of project work and the partnership between facilitators and participants. Each meeting is creative and reflective - collage becomes not only a tool for expression, but also a pretext for a conversation about space and identity. The classes are conducted in a way that encourages turning off the 'inner critic' and strengthening confidence in one's creative abilities. In the theatre part, we will use a number of tools to develop skills for building an interesting story, such as story bones and elements of the basics of public speaking. The workshop ends with a collaborative exhibition and a performative show where participants take on the role of guides to their own work.
For whom?
The workshop is aimed at high school students aged 15-18, with a particular interest in developing artistic, narrative and reflective skills. Members of art and theatre circles are invited to participate, as well as those with no previous artistic experience but who are ready for experimentation and creative exploration.
