Open Sound: Patrick the Pan

Patrick the Pan documents and at the same time celebrates simple, everyday life. Lofty, special moments or harrowing experiences stay in our minds, but it is the everyday 'greyness' that fills the space in between that is what the artist is most interested in here.

A simple life. A wedding full of tears. A farewell to youthful dreams. Monstera leaves. Love to the grave. Failed tattoos. A TV on during Christmas Eve. Varicose veins. Betrayal. Windmills in the field. Following on from his previous album, Patrick the Pan documents and at the same time celebrates simple, everyday life. Lofty, special moments or harrowing experiences stay in our minds, but it is the everyday 'greyness' that fills the space in between that is what the artist is most interested in here. It is from it that he cobbles together heart-warming stories which, although at first glance, are very personal, even intimate, soon turn out to sound familiar and resonate with our stories. About all of this is This is not the best time for sensitive people.

'Although I have existed on the Polish market as Patrick the Pan for 11 years now, I feel that with the fourth album, Miło wszystko, released in 2021, I was born again, I made my debut again,' admits Patrick. - 'So in preparing the new material, I didn't think long about the direction - it's a continuation of the philosophy from Nice Everything, meaning simplicity, songwriting and quick studio decisions were a natural choice. I'm following suit, except that I'm now three years older and more experienced.
